The mighty Ikara Colt were banned from playing the Leeds festival over the weekend, after their Reading headline slot ended in a stage invasion, PlayLouder is outraged to report.

The first we knew of it was when we received a text message guitarist Claire late Saturday night, reading: "it looks like we're not playing Leeds because we're a security threat... sorry."

We didn't think much at the time, but then a call from Claire the next day confirmed the rumors: Ikara Colt were banned from playing the Leeds festival, and possibly all future Mean Fiddler events or venues.

According to Claire, the trouble started when a very drunk Paul suggested the crowd get up on stage for the finale, as there were only "five security guards and loads of you".

"A lot of the bands that had played the Carling stage" earlier in the day joined Ikara Colt onstage, as did roughly 200 fans.

"It was amazing," said Claire. "I was almost crying, it was beautiful. After some of the kids came back with us for a drink, then we were told we weren't playing Leeds."
