Tonight (Thursday 24 October) on the BBC's 6Music digital radio station from 10pm:

DREAM TICKET
Defining live performances from the the Stray Cats, The Wedding Present, UB40, The The and, topping the bill, Thin Lizzy recorded at Reading Festival in 1983.

I'm too young to appreciate all this good music. Black Sabbath, Guns N Roses, The Clash and The Ramones are about as far as I go back.... Who are those strange a bands you speak of? Considering I'm not even an adult yet.

Unfortunately I am old enough to know all of these Reg. The The were pretty good. My Mum loved the Stray Cats. Sounds terribly 'retro'.

...there's bugger all festival news at the moment, so I have to take anything I can get.

Mind you, Thin Lizzy at Reading 83 is a broadcast well-worth hearing again - their final UK appearance. Somewhere in the crowd is me, clapping, too.

What we need is some rumours for next year's Reading that we can get officially denied by Mean Fiddler!
