First rumours here we go...

"New rock supergroup AUDIOSLAVE, the band made up of former RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and SOUNDGARDEN members, are to play in the UK for the first time in early January.

They will play London Astoria on January 17 one of only two European shows booked so far. The other date sees them in Paris Olympia on January 14. Other dates are set to follow.

Audioslave recently completed two brief headlining slots in New York and Los Angeles for KROQ, the alternative radio station.

The band's first single 'Cochise' is released on January 20.

Meanwhile, rumours are growing that Audioslave will be one of the headliners at next summer's Carling Weekend at Reading and Leeds festival."

Where did you get the rumour?

I was going to say that I'd be surprised if Audioslave were to headline, but anything's possible if the Strokes can headline with just one LP under their belts.

I'd be very surprised if that didn't turn out to be true, when NME claim something is rumoured, in reality it means its pretty much certain, ie they've said the Galstonbury headliners would REM and Radiohead for a loooong time, and REM have just comfirmed thatthey'll be there. So it looks like Audioslave will be there or thereabouts come August.

What have you got against the NME? Personally I think it's the most important musical institution in this country.

Audioslave

Let's assume Chilli Peppers headline one night (and I think they will), then Audioslave will probably be second on that bill...

Audioslave and others

December 18 2002, 10:46 PM

I heard some of Audioslaves stuff and its top notch. I was skeptical when I heard of them at first but top band.

Listnin to Wildhearts aswell, heard Reg and others talk about them and they are a very good band. Danko Jones also sounds good.

It would rule if Metallica went to Reading though. Ill just see them in concert anyway....
