Edwin Starr just died. Seems we never did get the message.

he lived right behind my house (at pooley hall in polesworth, warwickshire) and i knew him. (well, at least well enough for him to say hello to me when he passed me in the street.)

such a pity that he dies right now when the world should be taking notice of his most famous lyrics.
