OK....There I was on Saturday, all excited about getting to see Boysetsfire, Ataris and FFAF and what did I get instead?

A fucking face full of burger vans and 3 thousand ppl camped all around the few entrances to the tent!!

What the fuck is that all about? Tossers!! I realise that the sound pollution needs to be controlled somewhat with the tents being so close together but oh man was I bummed at not being able to even get close to the damn CJ tent at all on Saturday!!

We consoled ourselves with the main stage, which actually worked out ok cus I really enjoyed Beck and Doves, but I wasn't really planning to be there at all!

Never have, never will

Though at least in recent years they have put some bands that they might have otherwise put in there on bigger stages. Finch, AFI, Less Than Jake would all probably have been playing in there had it been a few years ago.

I was on the front two or threee rows for the whole of the CJ. The problem I guess was that there wasn't any main stage competition.

The tent does need to be bigger in my opinion. Although this year the lineup was huge and is unlikely to be matched next year. Turbonegro were amazing, totally loved them. King Prawn were really good too.

I nearly passed out before King Prawn because of lack of sleep/food and heat, secruity took me to the medical tent, so I didnt get to *see* King Prawn but I heard them and and they sounded really good.

The CJ Solution

August 26 2003, 12:22 PM

This year I worked out the perfect way to overcome the problem of standing at the back of the CJ stage. In short, I never left the stage during the day. I started just outside the tent during Funeral for a Friend, then by the end of King Prawn I was near the front of the tent. I didn't leave till after Pennywise, just getting water from the security guards at the front between sets. In the morning I saw salt marks all over my shorts where the swaet had dried, and I had to get an eyewash because the sweat had made my blue die run into my eye. God I was glad to get that shower on Monday!

I started off at the back at the beginning of pennywise and within about 10 mins was right in the middle! was a well good set!! Security got pretty battered during fuck authority! respect to the guy that climbed the pole!!
