......tickets from ebay?

i`m a bit nervous about ordering them from ebay just in case they never turn up

The only problem you're likely to have is a long delay before getting the tickets. The problem is that you dont usually get the tickets in the post until <14 days before the event. So you and the ebay seller will probably be sh*tting yourselves come august. I bought advance tickets. Don't know if that'll make em come any quicker.

Although I haven't bought festival tix from ebay before I have bought a LOT of stuff from there. Just check out the feedback, buy from someone your instincts tell you will be good for it, and good luck.

However I reckon you may as well pay £150 now with a ticket vendor where you know you'll get them even though they're charging stupid prices, rather than put your trust in someone, and especially as buying them from ebay may cost you that much anyway....more so the longer you now leave it too.

As for advance tix. I think I'm right in thinking that noone received those quicker than anyone else who had bought them when they went on official sale. I could be wrong.

i bought advance tickets last year. didnt come any quicker. also had a couple of day tickets that arrived at the same time. just means that you are guaranteed a ticket. not that THAT is any different from buying a general sale ticket. as long as the transaction has been confirmed via email/whatever you will get a ticket around the beginning of august.

assuming there are no cock-ups with the system....

last year there was a misunderstanding regarding my ticket - i thought a friend was buying it, he didn't. by the time I knew, they were sold out. so I decided to look on ebay. there were loads on there and as it got nearer and nearer to the festival, more and more where added. I waited until about 2 weeks before because I didn't want to bid on a ticket that hadn't actually been issued yet. My maximum bid was £130 and i got the ticket for £127 which wasn't bad considering tickets were selling at an average price of £300, last year! Anyway, my bid was successful, and i received my ticket within a few days.
Tips for any prospective ebay bidders:-
1. Wait till they've officially been issued - you'll only be panicking otherwise.
2. Read the descriptions carefully. Make sure they have the ticket in their hand - preferably a photo of the ticket will make things more valid.
3. Ask lots of questions if you're unsure about anything - if they are genuine, they'll only be too happy to answer your queries.
4. I was able to get the seller's phone number and ask more questions. If you can speak to the person directly, it's a bonus.
5. Look around. Don't bid on the first ticket you see. Chances are, you'll find a cheaper genuine ticket further down the list.
6. Look at the seller's feedback. Sometimes its hard to tell because alot of people sign up purely to sell their tickets so obviously they won't have any feedback yet. But if they have a large feedback anyway, that's a bonus.
