NO TICKETS, NO PROBLEMApril 18 2004 at 6:49 PM | olly |
| If you haven't got a ticket for reading this year, go up on the thursday , and thers a little office just in the entrance to the festival. It is an official mean fiddler office which sells weekend and day tickets at FACE VALUE PRICE they usually keep 1,500-2,000 tickets back every year to stop people buying thme off touts. I went up on the saturday last year and there were weekend ones still left,so there you go. |

I mean I saw the offices there but just assumed ppl were picking up tickets that they'd said they wanted to pick up in person.
It's good to know that you can actually go buy tickets at the site.
I'd still prolly be quite worried that they'll sell out though.....I'm such a worrier. Hence the desperate need to buy them ASAP. |

ive thought about that as well, they definitely did that last year cos my mate was really pissed as he had brought 3 day tickets after being told there would be no more on sale, but according to the ppl at meanfiddler they wont be doing that this year and as Mar said id much prefer to have a ticket in my hand than travel in the hope of getting one

...The Touts just go to the site and buy them there, I would have thought selling them like that would have made it MORE likely that the tickets would fall into the hands of touts?

I suspect they may use some common sensibilities. For example, if someone walks up and tries to buy four weekend tickets when they don't have any camping equipment or mates, they may refuse to sell them a ticket...
