A worthy idea - I hate inaccurate historical movies (The Gods save us from
300 Spartans type cartoon movies RHINOS?????)
Maybe it would get a better chance of being made if you wrote it as a novel first.
A lot of movies start as popular books or even series.
Filming a few stock footage scenes and posting them would be interesting.
A shot of just the feet marching by with the sound of armor rattling comes to mind.
(Having a reenactment group of around 40 march around in a circle would give the impression of an much larger unit marching by.
