Thats a pretty cool story, Rory.
Fortunately now, you can now take that same car, put some real trick suspension components on it, lower the engine, and move it rearward a little, put giant brakes on it, and use all the track racing tricks, vintage racers are using, plus lighten the weighty FE 30-70#s to make it handle even better.
I gotta find a way to record what the car sounded like with the exhaust, less restricted, under full power going around the track.
The FE forum would appreciate the raspy loud bark of the FE

Im told it was the loudest car on the track. The rubber on the rear tires literally had rocks and gravel melted into the tread!
