My hotrod Altima...........lol.

Well, I just can't leave things stock when I start to work on them, and this 05 Altima is no exception.

Its kinda like Nissan's version of the Mustang SVO. I really can't say why Nissan built these, or what their target market was.

I'm speaking of the 05-06 Altima SE-R.

It came only in four colors, black, red, silver, and charcoal, and there was only around 7k made both years [and this is debatable as nobody really seems to know]

The cars had different front/rear bumper covers, different rear spoiler, different side valance, 12.7" front disc brakes with SE-R stickers on the calipers, 11" disc's rear, all wheel abs, 18" forged wheels [unique to SE-R], factory Bose sound system 6 disc cd, special heated leather seats with "SE-R" emblem on both front seats, heater rear side mirrors, and a whopping ten more HP [yawn].

So anyway, I got the car cheap to resell, but my wife, and I really liked it so.......

I rebuilt the V6 with Wiesco 11:1 pistons, Crower cams, ARP rod bolts, ARP main stud, and head studs, factory forged crank all balanced, full length headers [this should make a big difference as the stock exhaust was crap], AND I'm trying to make my own upper intake, along with a 90mm throttle body, and mass air tube. Of course I will have to buy an ECU tuner to tune this thing.

Oh, and the heads flow on the intake side just a little more than a stock 4bbl Cleveland head, and way more than a clevor on the exh side. I ported them anyway.........Looking to get at least 300whp when everything is tuned.

Also, I rebuilt the automatic 5 speed, and installed a "zip" kit from Sonnax for the valve body which is supposed to cure all of the short commings of this trans.

I also repainted the whole car, and am adding an external trans cooler, and filter [damned filter is inside the trans like a Honda]

Here is the car before.

Ready for paint, with some holes cut into the hood for venting hot air, and hopefully keeping the front end from lifting at speed.

Lousy stock exhaust.

Hopefully it will run when I fire it up, of course with that many variable going on, I'm pretty sure something will need to be tightened, etc.

Wish me luck.
