When I get home I will up load the Videos. First pass I went 11.05@121. I was pissed. Cause the weekend before I went 1.46 60ft 6.62@102 10.59@125. So I checked everything out. Come to find out that the timing was at 10*. So I put it to 37*. Go out and run 1.480 6.541@105.69 10.292@129.96. Then the 3rd pass .000 reaction 1.502 60ft 6.549@105.82 10.290@130.52. It blowing the tires off at the starting line. So I got to make a decision about CalTracs or Laddar bars. I felt a bad vibartion in the rear. I don't know if it's the driveshaft or rearend but it was bad enough to make me dizzy and lose my breath. This is on one of the hottest days in South Florida. I was running my Mustang also and it consistently in the 12.80's@103 but it was so hot it was going 13.0's@102.

Nice Job!....

And you're running those times WITHOUT Cal-Tracs or ladders? What do you use on the rear setup?
Now you're in the running between Rory and Dale for the first into the 9s.

Wonder why your 60fts were slower but you were running quicker? The timing advance must be making the car pull harder through the power curve. Sure hope you get the vibration figured out quick. Dont want to see anything drastic happen. Make sure you check everything over good. Like Towlie says, "Always be safe, always take a towel...." (if you dont get the joke, I wont explain it)

Cant wait to see the videos.

Yea the cars not going back out until I find out what that vibration is. When my grandpa race the car back in the 70's and 80's I guess this is what they did back in the day for suspension made there own lift bars. Here is a bad picture hope you can see what I'm talking about. There are no adjustment to them. I didn't get to weight my car last night but I want to know how much it weights know. It weighted 3200lbs with the 390 and no cage.

Hope you figure out what's causing the vibration and get it into the single digits next time. Very nice running car.

great times! But where are the floaters?

June 24 2007, 7:02 PM

It seems to me your axle is binding. You have bars like ladder bars but no floaters on the springs. Am I missing something?

A Lightweight Convertible is not a contradiction! If you remove enough JUNK!

It doesn't have floaters. My grandpa did this back in the early 70's and it work great with his 4 speed then with the C6. Even with my old 390 with glide. Now that I'm making some power this set up is no longer good. There are no adjustments. I'm not going to run it anymore until I get the rear suspension strighten out plus I need aftermarket axles.
