Yeah, I already went over our big win at the pug nationals, but now that my wife is having her picture in all the magazines, she agreed to let me show off some of our videos and pictures, lol. Since I'm doing this, I'll go over the show again too, in case you missed it the first time, lol.

Last week was the national pug specialty show. Biggest event of the year for pugs. 398 pugs were entered from all over the country and even around the world. There were all the usual pug elite, the highly paid handlers and the rich and famous who go around purchasing the best dogs they can find; and then there were most of the people, the nobody hobby breeders like us.

Rufus has always been my wifes favorite dog. She always said that he was perfect and gorgeous and didnt have a single fault. He is the dog of our best pug friends that we go to all the shows with. They were due to have puppies on the final weekend of the nationals so they were not going to go. My wife bugged them and bugged them to at least have one of them run down on the last day to show him, but instead they asked us to take him and my wife to show him for them.

As you probably know, they won the show happy.gif happy.gif It really was so exciting. They got down to the final 10 and it was my wife still in the ring along with all those highly paid handlers and pug elite, and then they judge picked Rufus and the place went crazy. All the nobody pug hobby breeders took it as a win for themselves and it was just a crazy house for a while.

My wife hates having her picture taken, but now she is going to be in all the magazines. Ha-ha! I got so crazy that I forgot to take pictures and movies of her actually getting picked, instead I was on the phone with the owners and giving them the play by play on what the judge was doing. I do have some pictures and there are some videos I took and put on youtube below.

First the video links:

Heres Rufus getting examined on the table by the judge and then going up and back to show off his movement. My wife is obviously the one handling him.

The final 10 coming back into the ring. The guy two people to the right of my wife is the #1 pug handler, or was anyway, lol.

Here is where it got really exciting, the judge was starting to line them up in order. But you never know till he actually says!

And here they are in the winners spot awaiting the rest of the prizes to be brought in. It really was an experience! And I am just the husband of the handler, lol. I got more congratulations from people who would never even have given me the time of day before this. It was just too fun. And then we got to sit at Table #1 for the Awards Banquet happy.gif
