Thanks for asking about the size of blankets that are needed. I make a LOT of these (though mine are sewn) and try to keep them at least 30x30. Another great size is 36x36. While it is true that some of the babies do start life very small, they do grow and can outgrow the tiny blankets very quickly. I figure if I am putting that much work into it I would like to make sure that the baby can use for a longer time.
I am sure it has been mentioned before, but especially on the knit and crochet blankets please make sure and not use an open, loopy type of stitch. We need to make sure that they are safe for the babies and that no fragile little fingers or toes can accidentaly get caught in them.
