Starting a Chapter - Questions

I'm a mother of a 28 week preemie - I would love to give back to the community for all of the help that we've received during our sons care - There are alot of hospitals in my area and there is no NIN chapter locally - My husband & I though what a great way to give back to the community. If items are made locally, do they stay locally, or are they sent all over the US?
