Help with starting to knit for preemies

by

Hope some of you out there can be of some help to me. Last week I first found out that hospitals needed hats and other items for their preemies. What a surprise it was to me that the hospitals were not actually providing these items. Well that night I sat down and knitted two hats one for a 1 lb. baby and one for maybe 5-7 lb. I guess I am now commited to this work. How do I go about getting ladies in my community interested to joining me with this knitting. Can we start small in numbers, I've noticed that many sites on the internet such as yours has become not-for profit. Is it necessary to do this.

Also how do I deliver these items? Who at the hospitals are the knitted items delivered to? Do you wrap items individually and what kind of wrappings are used. Do you include a card with your phone number and address if the hospitals need more? Do the hospitals need hats and blankets on an ongoing basis?

I would really appreciate your thouths and ideas. Should you want to
e-mail me with this information my e-mail is antas0403@sbcglobal.net
