I am so excited that the holiday season has begun. Lots of my neighbors are real "over achievers" in the decorating department and it sure does look festive around here. I love being surrounded by all the lights and decorations; it makes it all so special.
My sympathies to those of you in the Midwest and East, I think we sent our awful snow and ice storm your way from the west coast. Be very careful, that is a nasty storm you are experiencing.
On a happy note - the stocking stuffer page was recently updated so you can all see where we are on this project. Still plenty of time for knitters, crocheters, sewists and shoppers to help us fill in the holes. If you have items for this project, please mail them as quickly as possible. We have already had one student group in the national office to help stuff the stockings and two more groups are scheduled soon...we need you items so we can keep these kids busy.
I know 1800 stockings was pretty ambitious but we are certainly within reach of that goal. I prefer to think of it as one child receiving a wonderful stocking that was sewn with love and filled with items that were donated by a group of volunteers with special, giving hearts and guaranteed to put a smile on that precious little face. Then I think of that scenario being played out over and over and over...
Thank you all for what you do to make Newborns In Need successful. Not just in this project, but in what we do every day, all year long. Without all of you we could not begin to touch the lives we do and make a difference in these lives.
