Yarn supply

Has anyone else noticed the decreasing variety and supply of yarn in stores? The fuzzy speciality yarns seems to be taking over the bins at JoAnn's and Michaels's stores. Each time I visit, yarns are marked down on clearance, not to be replenished. I just want to crochet baby hats and afghans!!
