Hi Dave thanks for the reply. The 7a38.7280. i have bought on e-bay is quite different to that shown in the picture the hands are very thin and it has numbers all round the dial.you may have seen it last week on e-bay.does the 7280 number denote the dial type or does it cover different dials. You are right about them being addictive i now have four.one i wear all the time which has chrono faults but still keeps perfect time.it also has a flaking dial,i was quoted £90 for a service, but i can buy them on e-bay cheaper than that.i would like to have it serviced but cannot find anyone in bristol to do it,I also have 4 7t27 watches which i bought new and have only used one.bought in local jewellers for between £179 to £250 pounds each, these have no military markings but have different luminous marks ie P or L.I was going to start collecting 7a38 and 7a 28s but now i see how many versions their are I think their would be no end to it.would you no if the little spring which bears on the chrono centre spindle which on mine is snapped off is available and from who,and can you recommend a repairer who is familiar with this model, sorry to go on a bit but i am so interested in these watches. Thanks Norman Clark.Bristol
