nationality would call their sport "football". "Rugby Union Football", or maybe "Rugby Football", but not "football"!
You are right, "soccer" is correctly known as "Association Football" hence my reference to FIFA: Fédération Internationale de Football Association (International Federation of ASSOCIATION Football).
It's always seemed very strange to me that a ball game which allows the ball to be handled should be called football? Maybe that's because I'm a "fule" (sic)?
