Response to Strange and maybe dangerous experience with Citizen Service

I dont know where you sent your watch but I called Citizen in CA a few years ago to get replacement spring bars for a few Aqualand watches I have and they sent me regular spring bars twice for 12 bucks a pop. I tried to explain that these were thicker bars the girl even checked with the Tech and still got sent regular spring bars. I did give them the model numbers but the models have been discontinued. So they dont keep part numbers on hand? They still make Aqualands with the same lenght bars just different models. WHY could they not send me the correct spring bars??? I have since found them at Borel. Unbeliveable so not at all surprised by the service they gave you, oh and Seiko USA is not much better either. They figure we are a disposable culture so if it stops working buy a new one. I would take to a reputable watch maker and have him fix it. Wish Citizen and Seiko would realize that there is a community of watch enthusiasts out here who are intent on keeping watchs for a lifetime and beyond. You can send in an old Omega Ploprof from the 70's and Omega can totally refurb it. Try doing that with Seiko or Citizen. If its beyond 7 years good luck!

Regards,

Ren
