This little forum ( which is the only one that I really attend ) continues to amaze me .....
Here we are in cyberspace yet we have a very tight knit & supportive community that manages to transcend national & international divides. We all have a common interest and are readily prepared to share it with others & encourage them to join, participate, collect & design.
I've noticed that there are quite a few new members and you appear to be younger than a lot of us regulars which is very encouraging - don't 'blow' the pocket money in one go ................
I came here for a bracelet but, with the assistance that I found here, have managed to build quite a few 'one off ' watches, have taken up bead blasting and am now hiding 'spare' watches at the bottom of my sock drawer. Without this forum I would have been a collector only.....The encouragement that I have found here has helped me to go further than I ever imagined - plus, I still have a hobby that I can fit in several toolboxes rather than a whole workshop ................
I quite often talk to several members on the 'phone' - have met some of you & will meet more of you in the future ( I hope ) - this really is a very small communitry but it manages to circle the globe ........Australia & New Zealand are always a day ahead although they think that we're a day behind ........The US starts to contribute once they get to work, the UK is here at most times ....& mainland Europe is always late .............
Local WIS meets are great, but we are all busy with work family etc., not everyone can make it.
The only place we can all really come together is on the forum! It is great to see new people show their collection, or just show up to ask one question.

you have to wear & abuse that watch for a year to see if it is any good...

for the fellowship here on this multi-national forum!
Who would think only a few short years ago (The WWW) or internet, that this could really ever be?....Talking to various people from one end of the world to the other in their native languages, and what a tool the translator is to allow this to be. eh?
Cheers everyone & happy watch hunting,
Jimmy
