... remember that we Dutch were on the front row to recognize the USA as a country (Treaty of Versailles 1783 - look it up on Wikipedia!) According to several sources, there's a nice parallel between The Netherlands and the US: Our Act of Abjuration (1581) inspired the US citizens to write the American Declaration of Independence! (Wikipedia is your friend again...). [arrogant mode off]

Mmmm, History lesson is over, class dismissed...
