Hi guys
HKCW CVR(T) Scorpion and Scimitar Conversion Set
We are very happy to add this set to our catalogue. This has never been available from anywhere before and allows you to build any of the four Scorpions or four Scimitars that took part in the recapture of the Falkland Islands in 1982.

Available now from:https://www.scorpion-miniature-models.co.uk/product-page/hkcw-cvr-t-scorpion-and-scimitar-falklands-war-coversion-set

This set is designed to be used in conjunction with either: CK3504 Scorpion Backdate set OR CK3505 Scimitar Backdate set and the relevant AFV Club kit.
As an alternative, any of the recent SMM sets can also be used (SMM3509-3514).

SMM Accessory Sets
The latest Scorpion Miniature Models accessory is a pair of Synthetic Tow Ropes to equip your CVR(T) model. Produced for us by Thachweave Products from Canada, they come with a pair of resin shackles.

Our ropes come with the loops in place - and ready coloured.

There is a general misconception that these ropes are called kinetic ropes. This is incorrect. These are simply tow ropes made from synthetic material.
The actual kinetic recovery rope was 30 feet long and carried by just one vehicle per troop – usually a Samson or support truck. During recovery, the tow ropes would be attached between the long kinetic rope and the recovery vehicle. Utilising the motion of the tow vehicle, the energy stored in the flexible kinetic rope pulls the vehicle out of trouble – in theory.

Best regards
Michael Shackleton
