info wanted on building your own display case

Sorry if this is a tad off topic. I once read an article about building your own glass display case but I can't find it on the net. Does anyone know of any good articles or can give me some advice. And maybe someone could fill me in on why the Tamiya display cases are so expensive when they're just a couple of bits of plastic.
I'd appreciate any help.
