Response to Shep Paine

I had the privilage of taking a painting class with Shep back in the early 80's.
It was a wonderful class on figure painting but he also delved into armor and dio's. In a 2 day class I finished a Verlinden large scale U-Boat commander and 1/3 of a 9omm French Dragoon. Two of the best figures I've ever painted.
I have a couple of the "fliers" that came with the Monogram kits of the time. His work and his class changed the way I look at doing models
Shep has a great skill. No do-dads, no resin, no PE. He did it all by hand and by found and adapted.
He is one of the reasons I'm not impressed by the "I took out a second mortgage on the house" award winning Panthers et.al.
Give me good workmanship over deep pockets anyday!!!
