Possibly but there must be a market for readymades, viz. Dragon & Trumpeter's 1/144 offerings.

I have seen some of these models (yes, they are the Forces of Valour ones - I couldn't remember the name the other day)and the weathering is OK for something done on a production line but maybe somebody out there has repainted and weathered one to their own specs.

Look at what people achieve with the Dragon action men figures...
