Atlantic wall Longues Battery diorama question

iam looking to build a cased diorama (1/35),question is was the massive gun longues battery built on a verical cliff side or on top of the cliff looking down on the beach head also where the rocks gray in color or sand color and last question was there other bunkers around and a railway track nearby does any body have any pic's or where i might look for this info thanks fellow modellers of history thanks for any input Brock Beckstedt of Norfolk,Virginia 1/35 scale diorama builder and a student of the arts
