I agree with Gino, but if you like easier (and cheaper!) ways, you can also use normal kitchen spices like dried persil or oregano.
For autumn colors, you can also pick up real leaves in autumn time, let them dry and then put them in the mixer until you only have tiny pieces with different colors.
These two ways are very cheap and easy, the disadvantage is that the shape of the leaves is often not completely realistic, but will do when you want a lot of leaves together.
Another alternative is to paint leave patterns on paper and then cut it out. This can give very good results (and any shape you want!)and is not difficult to do but quite time-consuming...
So you see, there are quite a few ways! Just pick the one you like most... (preferably after having tried all of them!)
