Hi all,

I'm putting together a small vignette that includes a postal pillarbox, probably somewhere in France in WW2.

My questions is how did they look like? Are they exactly like the red ones in England? I tried doing a search, but all I could find were the red pillarboxs in England. Any help would be much appreciated happy.gif

Thanks in advance!
Alan

Thanks Cliff !! The pictures helped a lot. Please convey my thanks to Bruno too happy.gif

Actually, I'm looking for the pillar box, the one that stands on the street corner for folks to mail their letters, and not the mailboxs that homes have. I have seen many of the red pillar boxes from England, but your pictures gave me some other ideas too. What colour would be those French pillar boxes during WW2? Yellow?

I noticed that quite a few of the pillarboxes have elaborate engravings on them - that's going to be tough to scratchbuild LOL happy.gif Might change my mind and scratchbuild something easier, like a lampost?

BTW, the vignette I'm planning on doing is 90mm in scale, using Pegaso's 90mm SS Sturmbannfuhrer of Artillery and dog. Im going to place him on a street corner with either a postal pillar box or lamp post behind the figure.

Mucho gracias again!
Alan
