If it doesn't say "Beeman," it could well be aApril 21 2004 at 7:23 AM | FTduffer (Login FTduffer) YC |
Response to My problem is the same with my HW 97... |
| 12 ft-lb gun. There is at least one well known marketer in the U.S. who has reportedly been bringing in "gray market" HW97Ks at attractively low prices, but without stating that they are 12 fpe guns. I know several people who opted for them, then did full power tunes and sound up with good FT guns. My own HW97K MkII, which I recently sold to a national prominent FT shooter, is a Beeman gun that delivered about 875 fps using CPL and FTS pellets before Russ Best tore it down and found a defective piston seal along with some factory-new roughness. After his tune, the gun shoots a bit over 900 fps.
Chances are very good your guns would do a very nice turn-around in performance with a tune from Russ Best or another top tuner (if there really is one) to bring them to full FAC power.
And, by the way, the Brits shoot field target day in and day out with 12 fpe guns, and every shooter will shoot a 12 fpe gun at the Worlds this summer in Germany. So 12 fpe is NOT the kiss of death for FT competition.
(But sending a non-Beeman gun to Beeman with complaints could be.) |
