Your gun is fine. Most of the bad ones struggled to get 800fps with Crosman Lights. You've just got a 12ftlb gun. I prefer the FAC guns and use a weak spring for FT. 12ftlb guns are fine unless one is pushed to FAC levels with a stouter spring. I have one here that someone put a RWS34 spring in it to do just that. It ain't pretty.
Anyway, HW97 compression tube and pistons are cheap!!!!!!!!!! Just order a set from Beeman if you want FAC. It's that easy

I try and temper what I say on my pages with the fact that I'm getting all the bad stuff at my door. A lot of these guns are fine. It's just some aren't and rather than explain it for the one billionth time it's easier to put a page up explaining everything "before" I'm asked to work on it.
