No Arrests Made In Colchester BB Sniper Case

COLCHESTER, Vt. -- Police in Colchester have yet to make an arrest in a series of pellet and BB gun shootings along Route 2 in Colchester.

The latest victims were two women taking Route 2 from Interstate 89 to the Grand Isle Ferry on Sunday, according to police.

Kimberlee Lussier, owner of Duggan's Quick Stop, said the women pulled into her store Sunday afternoon.

"They believe they had just gotten hit by a BB, so we went out and we checked the vehicle, and it did look like a BB hole," she told NewsChannel 5.

The hole was on the driver's side of the windshield.

"They seemed a little shook up, probably the passenger seemed more shook up than the driver, and they just basically asked where the incidents earlier in the week had taken place," Lussier said.

Police told NewsChannel 5 they are not sure if they are looking for one sniper or two, but they are sure that the shots came from above the road, likely from the cliffs on the east side of the road.

Police said the car was hit near the intersection at Clay Point Road, the same spot where seven other vehicles from either Vermont or New York, including a tour bus, were hit by pellets last Wednesday.

Anyone with information that may lead to an arrest in the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at (802) 864-6666.

Funny that there's been no followup on the case of the little 16 YO prick and his underage cohorts who got caught for shooting .22 rimfires at vehicles on I-87(on WPTZ's side of the lake), but then again, where's the sensationalism in covering the persuit of justice. He was on probation for shooting out windows with a pellet gun(in occupied houses), got violated on probation for peeing dirty, sent away for a Summer of rehab and did this within a three weeeks of being back. He should be doing hard time but so far has been able to get JO status and not sit in the slam save for booking.

I've searched to try to find if there's a Federal statute he could be prosecuted under(since one of the tractor trailers hit was from out of state and involved in interstate commerce on a section of the Eisenhower Interstate Highway System. If I could find a statute4 that could be brought to bear, I'd be on the US District Attorneys case until something was don to enforecd the law or get a public explanation why not.
