Repost: HW97 seal, airchamber, and breech seal questions (thanks to Ed and Gregg for post)

After pulling my .22 HW97 apart, I now have a few questions. I have just had the gun for a couple of days.

- should there be spacers behind the breech seal? Mine does not have any. It is a factory seal, and I suspect it to be leaking.

- are these newer 97's known to have airchamber uniformity issues? Looking closely I noticed an area with no crosshatch (circle shaped with crosshatch all around it).

- are the factory piston seals known to be good quality? I noticed overall seal depth goes near .20 of a inch past the piston boss. I am wondering if there are aftermarket seals that are made flush with the end of the boss, and possibly make this gun perform more efficiently?

Thanks for your help guys.
