What velocity are you getting with your HW97?

Lately I've been reading several posts regarding breech seal problems on the HW97's. Mine has been shooting a consistent but below average velocity of about 780 fps using CP 7.9's. Other than a chronograph reading, is there any test I can perform to see if the breech seal is leaking? I know that a break barrel can be tested with a napkin over the breech, but how can you tell with a closed compression chamber in an underlever?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
