I filled to 3200 with the .177 and took a bunch of JSB's outside with me.
I ran a full fill through the chrono as I know some people (aka "Scott" LOL) are anxious to know how it performs.
Chrono numbers were as follows:
The very first shot was kinda "hot" compared to the rest of the string. I'm not really sure why. Actually, I was a bit disappointed considering it is regulated. I wonder what this regulator looks like.
It may be shooting a little "hot" as it is supposed to be rated at 16fpe and is making about 17.5fpe. That may account for some of the shot count loss. I was truly hoping for 4 full magazines.
I did a quick run with JSB Heavies and Kodaiks. Each ran right at 900fps (Kodiaks about 5fps slower), so it's making about 18.5fpe with JSBH's.
Group of the day almost went to the JSB's at 0.188" for 4 shots, but the flyer opened up the group to 0.518". JSB heavies put 5 into 0.233" and Kodiaks a distant 3rd into 0.460" (all at 23yds).
I'll have to do a little more testing with the two JSB's to figure out which one to order more of (and I'm going to need a lot!)
One thing I noticed....my technique needs to be very different with this rifle. In most bolt guns (i.e. my MFR) when I am trying for extreme accuracy, I've got it set up in the bags and try to have as little contact with the rifle as possible. That doesn't work with the Monsoon.
With everything going on with that rifle, it "jumps around" some. This one requires me to sqeeze it in tight to me to try to keep it still. Not necessarily bad, just different (until you include my lack of shooting technique! LOL).
Anyway, I hope this helps some of you guys. This rifle is about as quiet as you're going to get from the factory.....
