Meet sprig compressor Maximus Adjustus . I needed a spring compressor the other day. I built all the standard designs, not happy with any of them. The c clamp on a board, no way to work around the gun only on the side that is facing up. Took up to much room on the bench. Did the pipe clamp gig not enough throw. It also made no sense to me to work on a 500.00 gun with a piece of water pipe and no way to secure the gun from dropping . Looked at the B square one. They are 177.00 now. Used on a few years ago. Almost a three handed affair. Not worth the 100.00 back then, dam sure not worth 177.00 now. Thought about the bench vice route, was to much space needed plus you need about the same stuff as the c clamp style. Why can’t you get a nice light weight portable compressor that you are not ashamed to show your friends.
So I set out to built the best compressor made. Some thing light weight, portable and you would not scare the hell out of someone when you put his 500.00 gun in it to take it apart.
So here it is. The best most adjustable and safest to you and the gun, spring compressor made. Maximus Adjustus. This compressor has every thing you need.
It is 6 pounds and will jack up a tractor. 8in of travel, a height adjustable receiver tube holder with Velcro setup to make sure the gun is secure, even a place to store the Velcro out of the way when not needed. A padded end cap that will take almost any bbl sight setup as well as any shroud or brake. More then enough room for under levers like 97s . The cap even rotates around to handle the sights when you turn the R series guns over to remove the little squares. The crown is protected from any kind damage.
All brackets can be move to any location as well as the receiver rest. You can even extend the range to 50 inches by moving brackets out to the last hole on each end.
Now one of the really cool features is the bolt you compress the spring with. It is completely removable. Meaning the handle comes off and the screw can be replaced so if you need a shorter or longer one. You could even replace it with a custom one with different pads on it. The handle is all steel and easy to grip. When you are done with the compressor you can hang it on the wall out of the way. It also works nicely as a gun work station as you can rotate the gun 360 degrees without having to loosen anything.
In the spirit of my targets this thing is overbuilt to give a life time of service, hell your grandkids will inherit it.
I will be posting on the classified for orders. The gun in the pictures is an R-9 I am even holding the whole rig up by the gun end cap out with the Velcro straps holding the gun to the compressor. tim

I would rather die, than give you control.
