They are not regulated. Unlike a Rapid they come from the factory with a quick fill (foster), gauge, moderator, scope rails and thumbhole walnut stock. Very accurate also shorter and lighter than a Rapid MkII.
Here is a recent hunt with my 400 Royale:
More long shots! This area really seems to be all about long shots which is great because that's why I wanted this rifle.
First one up was at 83 yards with no wind. I missed the first shot which surprised me because I was rock steady. I checked my scope and somehow I had the power setting on around 16 or 17x and that of course goofed up my reticle plot. I cranked it to 18x and waited for the now nervous digger to settle down. He was laying kind of low so I took a body shot thinking any small wind gust would just move the impact up into the shoulder or head.
No worries, the pellet made a loud thwok!
Next one was at 70 yards. I was sitting down watching some rock piles when I spotted him jump up to a rock. I put my scope on him and he just had his head barely sticking up over the edge of the rock. I was trying to hold my crosshairs on his head but my shooting sticks were slipping in the down hill sloping sand. My only choice was to forget the sticks and slowly rotate into an FT position. I re-acquired the squirrel and was now fairly steady. A long way for a head shot but the shot felt good and the squirrel was not going to stay there much longer so I finished the squeeze.
Luckily not a spot of wind and I hit right where I was aiming!
Last one I recovered was an easy 40 yard shot. I caught him tidying up his hole. Amazing he did not make it down. I found him laying across the opening.
I shot another at 79 yards that looked and sounded like a solid hit but he made it into his rock den. Also lost one in a dead fall after a 45 yard shot.
The 70 yard head shot from the FT position, by it's self, made for a great day afield!
He is a shot string:
