No, we don't even make a dent in the population. I'd bet there's 10 million or more starlings in this area. On this 122 square mile farm there's three dairies and two cattle yards for beef. One of the dairies is the second largest dairy in the world I've been told by a worker. probably 100,000+ head of cattle at any given moment in these dairies combined. LOTS of feed for these bovine and as a result, lots of starlings. They're EVERYWHERE during the winter but there are so many cattle around we can't shoot at most of them. This is the safest (and most effective) area we've found.
We're in N.E. Oregon (Orygun to northeasterners). We live in Pendleton but this farm is outside Boardman, about an hour away.
