then I'll take the head shot. Like Crowpopper said, in one ear out the other with a lead q-tip pretty much guarantees a scrambled brain = dead right there.
If the head is obscured then I'll go for a double lung/shoulder shot. If they do run, it's not for very far -
Like Field Target, when hunting squirrel you need to be confidant with your pellet placement, and know where your pellet is going to land at the range you're shooting.
EDIT: I may take some flak for this, but I've also had good luck with quartering shots angled through the rear hind-quarter and into the body cavity. They just drop dead with hardly any bleeding. But when you dress them out, there is tremendous internal damage!
