Response to new daystate mag. can I fix this or get a new one?

that is NOT normal. slight resistance should be felt as well as a slight click as the pellet engages the breech but what you describe is an alignment problem. the mag should be sent back to the dealer and replaced. just curious- are you loading the mag into the gun from the right side. the mags come from the factory with a magnet on the left to center them in the receiver WHEN INSERTED FROM THE LEFT. if you insert the mag from the right, the magnet usually mis- aligns the mag in the receiver, causing the problem you describe. you can move the magnet to the opposite hole in the magazine( fairly easy to do) or you can send it back and get a magazine SPECIFICALLY made for right side insertion. this issue has been an ongoing topic of concern on the DOC.
