One of my latest projects is a San Rafael R1 in .177. The metal is very nice, but the stock was kinda rough, so after stripping, sanding, staining, and 10 coats of Tru-Oil, I think it looks decent. I also did a DIY "soft tune" with a JM spring, seal, lubes, and homemade tophat, that resulted in a nice subdued firing cycle. Shall we say a nice "thunk" and not hold sensitive at all. H&N FTT @ 875 fps. I put a Leapers 3x9-32 on it and as you can see from the target pic, I think this one has a lot of potential. Of course the question is, shall I keep it or not? Being, as another member has put so eloquently, on social insecurity, I can't keep them all and another project beckons. So a decision shall be made soon. Hope y'all didn't mind my musings on the R1. Take care, Tom.
