Another question for you professional stock makers and refinishers.

I had redone some stocks where the wood demanded a high gloss finish and I used Homer Formby's High Gloss Oil over what was truly grade four walnut wood and it came out great.  My question is this.  I used some of Formby's low luster oil on another piece of wood and believe the can should have been labeled "No-Luster".

Question:  Could these two oils be mixed for something in the middle or is that a no-no?

What would you recommend for a medium luster finish on a stock that appears to be about grade 2.5 to 3 Walnut?

Thanks in advance for any help here.
