Mein Schütze (aka: Diana Model 240 Classic) at work defending the birdfeeder.

A few days ago, I had to restart my role as bird feeder defender after laying-off for a few weeks.
I noticed the number of house finches visiting the birdfeeders in my backyard had declined significantly.
I was wondering why, when the answer to my question became clearly evident.
My birdfeeders were ... again ... being mobbed by sparrows (aka: hosp).

At 10-meters, my Model 240 Classic, topped with a telescope sight with an adjustable objective,
has proven itself to be the near perfect foil.
Quiet, accurate, light-weight, always at-the-ready and easy-to-shoot with precision.
