due to the way the power plants in springers operate over gas based power plant guns that benefit from more of a stored pressure over the entire barrel length....the main amount of force in a springers barrel is about 3 to 4 inches of travel in the given barrel. The firing cycle of where the piston pushes is in a short heavy burst. Many have stated better accuracy and a wash or even a slight increase in fps with cut barrel on springers. The handling character of cut barrels is improved as well. I own a nitro titan gas ram an was thinking of a cut barrel but decided against it. I have a B4 chinese with cut barrel and it shoots way better and with all the tuning and new seal and spring kit gives around another 100 fpe in .22 over stock guns. Also with springers working on the internals along with a cut barrel can really improve the gun in most or all aspects of performance.
