Response to Bore lapping & polishing

can give a good idea if the barrel can benefit from lapping. If you feel tight and loose spots as the pellet is being pushed through, lapping "just the tight spots", could improve accuracy. If the bore feels uniform, with no tight or loose spots, but the pellet feels undersized or loose going through the bore, look at the rifling marks on the pellet, in a good bore, the individual rifling marks will be bright, with grey spaces between them, if there's brightness showing between the rifling marks, the bore is rough, and is sizing the pellets down as they pass through the bore, a light lapping can cure that. hth.
