I suspect that there is supposed to be a licensing fee paid to use the patented dimensions.
The bolt down add on rail requires more wall thickness in the cylinder than some guns have, if it's going to be secure,milling a rail happens in the same setup as cutting the jaws and trigger slot I'm sure, on a CNC mill it's nothing.
The abrasive in the dovetail trick will prevent ring movement in all but the worst cases(piston slam due to poor seals)
