900 fps would be ideal, but my HW97b does 860fps. You dont want to go less then 750fps because lower then that, your trajectory will be to bowed and the pellet wont have enough energy to knock down targets past 35 yards... Most PCP guys set their guns to shoot 10.5 grain CP's at 930fps, the heavy pellets are affected the least by wind...
For a scope, the most important feature is accurate rangefinding, and to be accurate you need AT LEAST a 24x power scope. B&L is the way to go for FT scopes, very good optics, very good consistancy and dead on rangefinding down to the yard! I own a B&L 6-24x40mm and feel like I own the best. a good scope will run you about $350-800. My B&L cost me $375
Your 10meter match guns are in no way suited for FT shooting. You need something that can drop targets anywhere from 10 yards out to 55 yards. If you really want to get serious and have some fun, get a HW97. For $400 its the cheapest and best way to get into FT. Also, a TX200 is just as good but may be a tad more expensive.
