My son loaned me his Fast Deer. He's unavailable right now and didn't leave me a manual.
I looked at the mechanism, twiddled the little safety one way and another, then pulled the cocking lever out. Once I got onto the trick of pushing the little locking bar, the lever swung out easily enough. It locked in the out position and I put in a pellet.
But now the lever doesn't close. It's locked open. On my B-4-2 it just closes easily, but on this Fast Deer it seems to be locked open.
Pull back hard (like you are cocking it) and get that LAST Click. It will not close

unless it goes to FULL COCK to release the Bear Trap safety.....If you ever let it close a little without closing it all the way, it needs to be RECOCKED to close it....
Kind regards,
Anthony

Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. It's loaded and ready to fire. remove the screws on the bottom and take the reciver and barrel out of the stock. Disassemble the anti-beartrap mechanism by removing the pins. Take a screwdriver and rap it on the mechanism under the cocking lever on the receiver. The gun will fire. This will happen every time you cock it twice. Always assume the fast deer is loaded (like any gun) and fire safely before cocking. It should not be stored compressed. That will shorten the spring life. Good luck and be safe! Watch your hands and fingers. My Norinco KL-3B fires 638 fps with Crosman Premier 7.9 grain domes. Ric
