..."panoramic" reddot Natchez has on offer for $75...

...and, since the sight comes only with built-in Weaver style mounts, I thought it'd be cool to set it up on a breakbarrel on CdT Barrel-Mount-Dovetails.

So I ordered a Gamo Shadow and had it dropped-shipped to Charlie for a SuperTune and (of course) a GTX trigger.

Now, admittedly, I'm probably a little biased. But wow.

All up weight: (with optics) is 6lb, 10oz.
MV: still settling in with tight Apex seal but already low-900fps and near 15fpe with CPLs.
Sweet and twangless firing cycle.
1lb, 8oz creepless trigger.

Pictures later.

I bought the Hakko version,

and have it on my Cutlas. Probably the version you've prdered will work as well, for lots less money...
I used mine on a rimfire rifle for a coupla silhouette shoots.....then stuck it on the cutlas. The main problem I've found with the Hakko is this: No markings on either elevation or windage for reference, (till I added them). They are allen head screws, so you must count turns and listen(very) carefully for the clicks..That said, optics are sharp clear to the corners, and the 4 different reticle patterns are sharp at lower intensities, distorting only at brightest settings.

Actually, Mike, now that I've just begun to play with the AimShot, I have reservations.

The sight is Chinese, not Japanese manufacture and looks to be of dubious quality.

The reticles do distort geometrically (e.g., the ring reticle becomes an un-round loopy oval) if you allow them to approach the edge of the field of view. But the worst is I can't see how it can possible hold a stable zero, given how the optics simply sit out in the open suspended by the E&W adjustments from the mount. It seems that the slightest bump will disturb the zero.

But it looks so cool on the Shadow that I want desperately for it to work.

I should know by end of day.

I like it, buying a gun to go under the sight

If I could convince my wife it worked that way, or opposite of that . Actually, I have a pretty understanding wife. It's the reality of bills to pay that get in the way.

LOL! Seriously, what I can't figure out, Hoyt, is how most folks do without...

May 11 2005, 4:17 PM

...some sort of a pellet store/magazine on their airguns! I got tired of picking pocket lint off pellets - not to mention the frustration of ending up with the wrong pellet for the wrong gun!
