Diana Factory Special Run: Diana M54, .20 Cal Lothar Walther Barrel
Production by Mayer & Grammelspacher GmbH

Trying to attract sufficient interest to commission a Factory Numbered Special Run.
Based on the Diana Model 54 in .20 caliber with a Lothar Walther barrel.
The project will be patterned around the Field Target rifle Héctor J Medina has been campaigning.
These are to be factory original rifles and will be laser numbered as such.

The project will be a collaboration between DIANA Mayer & Grammelspacher GmbH & Co. KG
and Connecticut Custom Airgun (Hector Jose Medina Gomez owner).

Quote:
A 'run' number and the total in the run.
The model designation would be the same as the 54 model.
The caliber designation would be lasered on the end of the receiver.
Serial numbers to be needled on the receiver, where the barrel would not be affected.
As you can surmise ... it will not come cheap.
However, for those of us on a budget ... the cost should be managble.

.20 Cal M54 Project: Payments by Milestones or Lay-Away Plan
Quote:
This 54, however, will be a special run, so we can go in payments by milestones,
as we have done with the 430 Stutzens, and the 34k's.

I would envisage a $300 down payment, then another $300 when the guns are ready to ship
from Germany and the remainder when the guns are shipped to end user.
Not all of the specifications of the rifle project have been finalized.
Quote:
So, let's see if some more interest is garnered,
it would be great if we could get a good lot of folks interested and then
we can think of a nice, light, walnut stock.

At the moment, the main object is to determine whether there are sufficient interested parties
to make the project a GO.
This is may be your opportunity to become involved in suggesting some production specifications
and in the acquisition of a true Factory Special.

I would be interested in this project

January 30 2012, 1:08 AM

I would be most interested in this project if the rifle is blued, rather than parkerized. I read about it on Brad's American Airguns Classified Ads page.

I have a .177 54 that I bought 7+ years ago from a Forum member in Virginia and have always felt many considered the RWS54 to be a red-headed stepchild. I had not used it in a few years but just started using it again and was just doing research to fit a rear diopter sight, so I was back here after a long airgun hiatus.

From reading the links, it sounded like there are still some details or features to be determined, but I am hoping for the regular 54 stock which fits like a dream. Adjustable butt pad would be nice, but not necessary as I am familiar with doing a 'run'.

Thanks
Bill in VA (for Virginia)
